We keep seeing examples of false 'organic' claims so we wanted to clear things up and explain what to look out for on your labels!
If a food or drink is certified as organic and sells in Europe, it has to, without a doubt, display the EU organic leaf at the very least which looks like this:
This is the leaf logo we display and the GB-ORG-02 means Great Britain, Organic, Control Body 02 (which is the code for our control body; Organic Farmers & Growers).
Some companies (like us) go further and display both the leaf and the control body logo who certified us as organic like this:
It's important to point out that even if the product contains some organic ingredients, if its not wholly organic and traceable & inspected against organic standards, these logos cannot be displayed.
So, watch out for those rogue traders and be sure you're actually consuming organic produce, by checking for the organic leaf logo on your products!
